On behalf of our client, Behavioral Health Solutions (BHS), we are conducting a search for a Vice President of Addiction & Substance Abuse Services with in-depth knowledge of substance use disorder (SUDs) and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and proven ability to build a scalable platform in outpatient treatment programs.  Reporting to BHS’s CEO, this leadership role is focused on successfully implementing this program and growing the footprint in all current and future regions for BHS.

Essential Duties + Responsibilities

  • Recommend and develop the strategic planning process of the SUDs/MAT program. 
  • Oversee the implementation of the SUD’s/MAT program for each region.
  • Evaluate and make recommendations for business development and expansion opportunities of the program as needed to meet company goals and initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with leadership in the development and implementation of the operations of the program to achieve budgetary goals.
  • Provide leadership in establishing department objectives related to staffing, policies, and procedures of the program.
  • Monitor compliance of all metrics associated with the program, and ensure all operational services meet regulatory and quality standards.
  • Maintain professional affiliations and enhance professional growth and development to remain current in changing trends or regulations as related to the management of SUDs/MAT.
  • Provide continual process improvement initiatives for the department. 
  • Maintain and grow relationships with referral sources.
  • Plan and facilitate outreach and education activities, as appropriate.
  • Serve as a liaison and representative for BHS as it relates to addiction treatment.
  • Promote the image of the organization for the purpose of marketing services.

Qualifications + Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience with addiction treatment.
  • Strategically focused with proven experience creating and maintaining an addiction treatment program. 
  • Must possess a background in the mental health field.
  • Subject matter expert around regulations and requirements to facilitate SUD’s/MAT; continuous learner with emphasis on compliance and regulatory updates.
  • Graduation from an accredited program with a master’s or doctoral degree in social work, counseling or psychology is a plus. 
  • Possess a valid driver’s license; travel to BHS service states required based on business needs. 
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with computer software, Microsoft office suite, and EMR solutions (Athena preferred).
  • Conflict resolution skills. 
  • Comfortable in ambiguity; flexible towards achieving results and driven to set and meet metrics and growth goals.
  • Making solution recommendations, while working collaboratively with others
  • Big picture thinker with a high degree of organizational skill; disposition and capacity to supervise staff and build a team.
