Glass Specialist

On behalf of our client, 3form, we are leading a search for a skilled and innovative Glass Specialist. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in recommending glass solutions and designing glass applications within the A&D world, as you collaborate closely with sales representatives and customers. Expertise in glass materials and manufacturing processes will be instrumental in meeting clients’ needs while ensuring product quality and safety. This customer-facing role is critical for instilling confidence in 3form’s customers, setting proper expectations, and helping close business for the company.

Essential Duties + Responsibilities

Glass Application Consultation: 

  • Work closely with sales representatives and customers to understand their project requirements, objectives, and constraints related to glass applications. 
  • Provide expert advice on the best glass materials and configurations to meet the project’s functional, aesthetic, and budgetary requirements. 


Solution Design and Prototyping: 

  • Develop innovative glass application concepts based on customer specifications and industry standards.
  • Create detailed designs and prototypes to showcase the feasibility and potential of the recommended glass solutions. 


Material Selection: 

  • Conduct comprehensive research on available glass materials and manufacturing methods to identify the most suitable options for specific applications. 
  • Evaluate the physical, chemical, and mechanical properties of glass materials to ensure they meet project requirements and industry regulations. 


Collaborative Engagement: 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, research and development, and quality control, to ensure seamless integration of glass applications into the production process. 
  • Engage with suppliers to source high-quality glass materials and negotiate favorable terms. 


Technical Presentations: 

  • Deliver clear and compelling technical presentations to sales teams, customers, and stakeholders to explain the benefits and features of recommended glass applications. 


Industry Trends and Innovation: 

  • Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, advancements, and emerging technologies related to glass applications. 
  • Continuously explore opportunities for product improvement and innovation.


Qualifications + Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Glass Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Proven experience in glass engineering, glass manufacturing, or a related technical field. 
  • Strong knowledge of various glass types, properties, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in designing and recommending glass applications for industrial or commercial use. 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex problems related to glass applications. 
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Rhino, Solid works, or other relevant design tools preferred.
