Enterprise Technology Business Manager

On behalf of our client, 3form, we are conducting a search for an Enterprise Technology Business Manager, to lead the creation of strategies and plans that define how technology should be utilized to enable 3form’s overall business strategy. This person will apply knowledge of best practices to define how technology will shape the overall strategy for 3form. 

This person will oversee the administration of all Line of Business applications and develop, document, implement, maintain the comprehensive business application strategy, standards, and processes. They will be technically inclined and hands-on, working closely with many cross-functional partners including; Product, Engineering, Client Services, Operations, Sales, and Marketing to manage and set technical direction for business applications. 

The Technology Strategist will be a subject matter expert and the voice of Business and Technology Operations, collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure that the product they intend to build gets delivered. They will consistently maintain knowledge of evolving trends in technology strategy and management and apply it to develop innovative approaches to deliver value for the organization.  As a leader, this person will maximize business value by conducting rigorous analyses and developing strategic multi-year road maps in concert with other business leaders and teams.

Key focus areas include:

  • Enterprise Systems Value Strategy: shaping the direction of enterprise technology and business information systems to align the overall business vision and objectives and drive measurable improvements
  • Technology Innovation and Eco-systems: exploring new and emerging technologies to create a vision of how technology will shape the future and invent the next wave of cutting-edge business solutions 
  • Operating Model: shaping how enterprise technology will operate to achieve key business objectives. 
  • Enterprise Architecture Strategy: developing the foundation for business and technology capabilities and execution improvement

Essential Duties + Responsibilities


  • Operate at a tactical, strategic, and operational level, supporting the strategy development for the technology organization
  • Develop business requirements and translate to functional design to build technical product solutions 
  • Drive technology transformation efforts; own/shape the move toward an agile, product based operating model
  • Design the right tech stack solutions based on organization strategy, structure, and processes
  • Analyze existing processes and workflows across the organization to generate recommendations on improvements
  • Partner with business functions to identify new opportunities to leverage technology
  • Scout emerging technologies, trends, and best practices, identifying new opportunities that can add business value and support company goals
  • Define appropriate processes and manage compliance to ensure corporate delivery quality at product/platform/program level
  • Own and manage the financial health of enterprise information systems and projects and the technology financial management and budget process (G&A and capital plan)
  • Plan, organize, and direct all activities related to team staffing, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing development initiatives
  • Manage the administration, support, and training for business applications 
  • Execute quantitative and qualitative analyses to drive and support key executive-level decision making across future “big bet” investments, organizational structure, and more
  • Conduct market and competitive research, and analyze trends to better inform the overall technology strategy
  • Aid leadership in identifying priorities and risks that require attention and ensure department heads have adequate support
  • Distill discussions and thoughts from leadership into strategic plans

Qualifications + Requirements

The ideal candidate:

  • Has a combination of technology and business training including an undergraduate technical degree (e.g., engineering or science) with secondary degree in psychology, social sciences or marketing
  • Demonstrates an interest in learning and ability to comprehend technical concepts quickly
  • Is familiar with key technology trends such as Cloud computing (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS), IoT, mobility solutions, software-defined services
  • Has the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively work in teams
  • Has the ability to work in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment and manage competing priorities and frequently shifting schedules
  • Is motivated, collaborative, and curious, with an insightful personality
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and problem structuring skills
  • Has top-notch communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science or Information Systems
  • Minimum 8 years in technology roles spanning strategy, architecture (business, data, digital, information systems, infrastructure) and/or delivery functions driving digital transformation and data strategy leveraging emerging technologies and cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS and Google)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience writing business cases (quantitative and qualitative) to support strategic business initiatives, process improvement initiatives, or IT transformation recommendations
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in at least 2 of the example offerings: IT Value Strategy, Technology Innovation and Ecosystems, IT Operating Model, Enterprise Architecture Strategy, Industry & New Technology, Technology ROI/Cost Take Out, Operating Model, Cloud Transformation, Modern Architecture, Data-Driven Enterprise
  • Ability to lead the planning, organizing and facilitation of executive-level strategic or technology planning workshops and ability to orchestrate emerging technologies to client services and solutions on cloud platform
  • Excellent interpersonal skills especially in areas of teamwork, facilitation, influence, and negotiation
