On behalf of our client, Jaipur Living, we are conducting a search for two Commercial Sales Representatives—one based out of Atlanta and another out of Chicago—to drive the introduction of the company’s offerings to the contract design channel.
Jaipur Living’s commercial division, J.L. Bespoke, is seeking exceptional individuals who can bring a fresh perspective to a field often characterized by experience and tradition. The company’s vision is to transcend the conventional boundaries of commercial design. Essential Duties + Responsibilities
- Promote JL’s lines—an overarching brand—to the commercial A+D channel through presentations, PKs, lunch-and-learns, CEUs and other forms of in-person or virtual meetings.
- Grow sales pipeline through existing and new contacts.
- Prospect for new business and develop strategic accounts.
- Target continued and growth business in the hospitality segment.
- Pitch, negotiate and close projects in assigned territory.
- Achieve quarterly and annual sales goals (e.g., top-line sales, meetings quotas, etc.) after a 6-month introductory period. Previous experience working on commission.
- Collaborate with the JL Bespoke inside sales and support team on activities such as:
- Quoting
- Custom design and order processes
- Project tracking
- Sampling processes
- Stay abreast of industry and in-market trends through local IIDA/AIA chapter events, trade shows, and other impactful networking opportunities.
- Develop knowledge of JL’s full product library, including custom capabilities, design quality, and product specifications.
- Consult with JL Bespoke GM and senior management to provide recommendations on sales processes, collateral, pricing, marketing, competitive analyses, and other activities to bolster JL’s commercial offerings.
- Update design firm libraries with new samples and materials.
- Troubleshoot customer or project-related issues.
- Track all sales leads, booked projects, meetings and other key activities in Salesforce (CRM). Generate and present reports to management, by request.
- Maintain social media presence to market JL product and engage with the design community.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications + Requirements
- 10 years (+/-) of experience selling commercial design products, preferably textiles, through the A+D channel.
- Demonstrated ability to sell through diverse segments in the industry, including hospitality, workplace, education, and healthcare.
- Of the above segments, hospitality experience is most important.
- Existing A+D and end-user contacts in Atlanta; an established network across the Southeast US is preferred.
- Ability to sell on the basis of design, storytelling, and logistics (e.g., production capacity, lead times, etc.)
- Track record of building and maintaining year-over-year pipeline and top-line sales results.
- Up to date on industry and design trends.
- Current or past experience selling custom projects is highly preferred.
- Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to manage sales activities through a CRM (Salesforce preferred).
- Strong work ethic. Availability to attend meetings or events after business hours.
- 25% travel outside of Atlanta is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in interior design or a related field is preferred.
