A+D Sales Consultant

On behalf of our client, Autex Acoustics, we are conducting a search for an A+D Sales Consultant who will brand, develop and grow business in New York City. Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, this NY-based Sales Consultant will call on the A+D  channel to drive continued growth. 

Autex is a leading brand of innovative interior acoustics panels and insulation products in the  contract design industry. Headquartered in New Zealand, Autex is the only carbon-neutral  manufacturer in the commercial acoustics space. In North America, Autex has experienced  significant year-over-year growth.

Essential Duties + Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with the A+D community, local distributors, and installers in the assigned territory, leading to the specification of Autex products. 
  • Provide product presentations to the A+D channel, including AIA/IDCEC CEU presentations. 
  • Participate in industry networking groups, including IIDA/AIA. 
  • Respond to customer requests.  
  • Coordinate all front-end aspects of projects with the territory, including design and budgetary support, sampling, project submissions with Autex PMs/Coordinators, and quote delivery.
  • Manage prospects, current customers and all projects through Autex’s CRM.
  • Create, manage and execute on an in-market sales plan that includes 10-12 high-value touchpoints with clients every week.
  • Act as main conduit for follow-up at all stages of a project, from concept to close-out.
  • Achieve technical proficiency in Autex products, communicating technical details to designers, clients, and installation partners. 
  • Champion, manage and represent Autex in one area of topical expertise.

Qualifications + Requirements

  • 3-5 years (+/-) of A+D sales experience representing an architectural/commercial product offering.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Architecture strongly preferred. 
  • Current A+D connections in the DFW Metroplex. Active participation in IIDA/AIA. 
  • Concept-to-completion sales experience in the industry. Proven ability to manage all stages of a sale, from prospecting to project management support. 
  • 3D consulting capabilities. e.g. Helping a designer conceive the image of a project by reviewing blueprints, elevations and CAD drawings.
  • Collaborative, consultative sales style. 
  • Ability to work independently and work harmoniously with Autex team members. 
  • Natural problem-solving skills. 
  • Exceptional written, communication and presentation skills. Experience in a ‘brand ambassador’ role is a must.
